The superstitious among you know the saying well – rain is good luck on your wedding day! Ok, so maybe a light rain that stops before the outdoor ceremony actually gets underway, but still, a little rain is considered a good sign (though even we’ll admit that a monsoon-like situation would probably rain on your parade and be considered not so lucky!).
In that spirit, we thought we’d share one of our labors of love – an umbrella centerpiece! This towering structure is so much fun, because the basic form can be transformed with different flowers and décor elements to make it match any theme or any style of wedding, and regardless of the venue or wedding, this eye-catching piece adds instant drama to your tables. We always make a point of designing our props so that they can be done in diverse ways – it makes it easier on us, and it gives our brides that many more options and ideas. Plus, it’s totally unique – how many wedding have you been to with umbrella centerpieces??
But to be honest, the umbrella centerpiece started just as a fun, pretty crazy idea we had. We had always wanted to do something big and grand over the tables, so we figured we’d give it a go! When we first designed the circle, we thought it would look cool with just candles, but as we progressed into it and attached it to the pole, it turned itself into the umbrella! The rest was easy. We used branches and orchids on the top and hanging orbs and glass votives, creating an eye-catching, whimsical yet still totally glam centerpiece.
