Ready to pick your wedding flowers? Not so fast! Choosing your wedding blooms is a little trickier than you might first realize. Sure, it’s tons of fun to walk into a florist’s shop and to take in all the beautiful smells and gorgeous blooms, but don’t run around gathering your bouquet quite yet!
One of the most important factors in determining your wedding flowers is the time of year that you’re having your wedding, which means that if you’re flower shop hopping in the spring for your fall wedding, you’re not necessarily going to be seeing the selection you’ll actually be choosing from. But, that’s where a skilled florist comes in. They’ll be able to guide you in the right direction, showing you which flowers will be available during your wedding season, and showing you images of all of the different flowers in your wedding colors and ideas for different arrangements. Plus, you may want the flowers and accent pieces and even colors you choose to match the colors of the season, particularly if you’re having an outdoor wedding in the crisp autumn air.
Of course, if there’s a flower that you just have to have, chances are it is in season somewhere. So, if you’re willing to fork over some extra moolah, not to worry – florists are often able to get the flowers you want shipped in from another country.
