One tried and true tradition at weddings is the sweetheart table at the reception. With the dancing and walking around to say hello to everyone and the cake cutting and everything else that pulls you in a million different directions on your wedding day, some sweethearts cherish the thought of this table made for two, where they can have a little one on one time, however brief it is before moving on to the next wedding day festivities! When it comes to the sweetheart table, couples often have it resemble the general decor of the reception, using the same flowers or embellishments like candles that they have prettying up the rest of the reception. The difference is that instead of tall centerpieces that would block the newlyweds’ view, couples will decorate the sweetheart table with a beautiful arrangement of flowers or candles across the front of the table, be it a lovely little chic row of blooms or an abundance of overflowing flowers for an opulent and elegant touch. Some couples will make their sweetheart table stand out even more by adding oversized tufted chairs, giving them the very deserved aura of royalty on the big day, or even add an arch or lights behind the table as a beautiful background. Couples also like to add sweet little touches like signs that say “Bride” and “Groom” and “Mr.” and “Mrs.” – chalkboards on the table or banners across the front of the table can bring a very trendy vintage feel to these cute little design elements.
