You’re going to be spending a lot of time (and sometimes a lot of money!) creating that beautiful centerpiece that reflects your personal style, so in order to help you take your vision and make it into a reception-ready reality, here are a few tips to help you with your design!
- Mirrors are a great option for the bride on a budget, because they can make a little go a long way. Placing a smaller centerpiece on a round or square mirror on your reception table will actually make it appear larger. Add some candlelight on the mirror and you have a gorgeous, lit up centerpiece that will attract the attention it deserves!
- Speaking of an attention-grabbing centerpiece, pin-spotting is another great option. Whether your centerpieces are large or small, you an easily attract the eye right to them by placing a spot of light directly on to them. Not only will this put your centerpiece literally in the spotlight, but it’s a great idea if you don’t have a lot of décor going on with your walls. The pin lights will draw the eye inwards towards the reception tables and the walls will fall away in the shadows.
- The height of your centerpieces is super important. You want your guests to be able to talk across the table, so your centerpieces need to be low, or they need to be tall and in clear vases or just tall and slim! Your guest’s eyeline is approximately equivalent to the length of your forearm above the table, so you can use that as your guide to ensure there is lots of happy cross-table convo at your wedding!
- Don’t think you have to stick to just one design for your centerpiece. Have some fun and add an interesting element to your reception décor by switching it up! You can have both low and tall centerpieces arranged on different tables or on the same tables, or you can have 3 different but coordinating centerpieces placed around the reception. It’s all about you and the look you love!
