There is snow on the ground and winter is finally here to stay. As we prepare for six more weeks of winter, our Floral Design team put on our winter brainstorming hats.
Just like when you are snowed in, you reach for the items in the back of your kitchen cupboards to make a soup, stew or anything that can sit on the stove for hours, warming up the house. We reached in the back of our floral kitchen to make something that can be available throughout the entire year.
Our first ingredient is my absolute favorite flower in the world: Gloriosa Lily, also called the Flame Lily or Climbing Lily. Gloriosa Lily is a unique, textural flower that comes in three colors and is available all year round.
Our next ingredient that we found in our floral kitchen was a decorative metal sphere. We wired some steel grass to this sphere and mixed it with gloriosa vines and added some hanging orbs filled with gloriosa blooms to spice it up.
The base of the centerpiece is combined of a blend of red spray roses and yellow mimosa in small glass cylinders alternated with pillar candles in taller glass cylinders of different heights.
We changed the traditional look of plain glass cylinders by wrapping them with colorful matching sisal mesh. This refreshing look will definitely be an eye catcher that makes a statement and will be long remembered by all your guests.
